What is this supply chain forced labor report?

It is the annual report required under section 11 of Bill S-211, the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act. This covers financial year 2025 and is the third annual submission.

Which entities does the report cover?

It is filed jointly by Nature Fresh Farms Inc., created in 2007, and Nature Fresh Farms Sales Inc., incorporated in 2009. Together they employ more than 1,000 people across Canadian greenhouse operations based in Leamington, Ontario.

What does the supply chain include?

Fresh greenhouse grown produce including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and berries sourced from growers in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, plus packaging materials and growing material suppliers.

Where is the greatest risk?

The report identifies suppliers as the main exposure, with risk concentrated in goods procured from higher risk geographies and sectors rather than in the company's own operations.

What due diligence steps are in place?

Suppliers must meet Global Food Safety Initiative standards and, since 2019, Ethical Charter requirements. Annual social responsibility audits such as SMETA and Fair Trade USA are used, and suppliers are encouraged to take part in certified audits.

What training do employees receive?

Orientation training on the laws and requirements covering forced labour and child labour is mandatory for employees.

Were any cases found, and who approved the report?

The report states that no instances of forced labour or child labour were identified, so no remediation measures were required. It was approved by director Patrick Criteser, President and CEO, on May 26, 2026.
